Welcome to “A Beau Place”

Welcome to my little space on the internet. My name is Beau-Jane, I’m 31 years old and in 2020 me and my husband Henry, Our son Rocket and our 3 Dachshunds Arnold, Chopper & Nacho, made the biggest change I think our lives will ever see. After years of dreaming and over coming every hurdle that could be thrown at us, we moved from our lovely 3 bedroom family home in Cambridgeshire to the wild Rocky Mountains of Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

Any of you who have not been in outer space will know that was the year of the “pandemic”. Yes! 10 weeks after we landed in our new life, The world shut down.

It has taken me a while to gather my thoughts and truly understand how I have felt throughout the experience, and now I feel if I share our story not only will it be a record for my son to look back over, but also it may be of use to someone wishing to embark on the same journey.

In this blog you will find information on things we had to do to achieve our goal, what we are still going through, some reviews on the beautiful places we have been so lucky to visit and a bit about my personal thoughts on not only emigrating, but motherhood, changing friendships & how to be the best version of yourself to make this all work.

My bottom line on it all is…

“If you truly want something, you have to give it your all to make it happen. It’s OK to be selfish sometimes if you believe it is the right decision for your family & Its OK to be scared and question yourself because how do we learn anything if we don’t ask questions”
