20-21 – New year intentions

HAPPY NEW YEAR – 2021 – The year the world was going to magically transform, covid would go away, global warming will have disappeared and world peace will reign over the land…. Yeah Right! But it’s nice to be optimistic.

This changing of the year was pretty quiet, As I know everyone’s was. Henry and I got a few hours to ourselves on NYE afternoon and went ice skating. It was so nice to have this couple of hours to ourselves. Something I’m sure all parents struggle with. Defiantly a new year resolution of mine is to make more time for my husband. We have very busy lives and it’s important not only for us, but for our son that we love and support each other openly. We want him to follow in our example. We want him to have a healthy outlook at relationships and to be the best man he can be to whoever he chooses as a partner one day.

Another new year resolution of mine is to stay a lot more sober. Alcohol was a safety net to a lot of us in 2020, using covid as an excuse, using long hours at work, bad news, good news, or “just because”. I don’t want that to be me anymore. I don’t want to feel like I need the booze to make me fun or interesting. I want to be the best I can for my Rocket, I want to feel good and go on adventures with Henry. I was to stay looking young and healthy and I want to have a healthy relationship with my body. Alcohol leads to binge eating for me, and binge eating leads to feeling horrible.

So here we go, 2021, less booze. (note I’m not saying no booze – as soon as I get back with my mum we are cracking open a bottle of rosé and catching up on EVERYTHING we have missed)

2021 is going to be a big year for me and Henry. The ultimate goal is to get our PR and buy a house here. Complete level one of our Canada dream and start out on the rest of our lives…

Wish us luck
